Pernille is now two days old and discovering the meadow. Her birth was the hardest we've had so far here at Cria Valley. Only one leg was in the right position and her head was facing the wrong way. The vet was unreachable because he's on holiday. Luckily Christoph was here and was able to reposition her inside and got her other leg and head around to the front and pulled her out just in time. After a long wait, this year's first baby girl has arrived. Sweet Coral gave birth in the early hours of this morning and I was greeted by Blue Suede Maisie already standing on the meadow. Yesterday I got a lovely surprise. Mona Lisa gave birth to a beautiful boy, Oberon Dream. He came almost 3 weeks early but is strong and fit and was walking down to the meadow within an hour of being born. He's one week old today and already running circles around his mum! It's amazing how quickly he grows. I was planning on sharing the next post when Maya has her baby, but she is taking her sweet time about it and has now been pregnant for 367 days and still no baby! So I decided to share instead a picture with you that I took today of my guys enjoying the beautiful spring weather. The fruit trees are blossoming and the grass is finally starting to grow. Today I did my second Alpaca course, this time at Alpacas Vom Aspoltsberg. It was a beautiful day and the highlight was seeing some of their alpacas enjoying one of the first sunny days in the meadow. This is what it's all about!
