So baby season is over at Cria Valley Alpacas now. The final score is a wonderful 5-1 for the girls. The last baby was another little white girl for Toska called Moondancer. Unfortunately Dreamfyre never found the milk bar, so she gets milk from me every 4 hours now until January! She is growing well though and now is 11kg. That is 4.5kg in 6 weeks. So it's been a busy few weeks here at Cria Valley! First came a white baby girl called Sunfyre, then Caspers first child, a multicolour girl called Dreamfyre and finally yesterday my first grey baby was born. A boy called Seasmoke. Pernille is now two days old and discovering the meadow. Her birth was the hardest we've had so far here at Cria Valley. Only one leg was in the right position and her head was facing the wrong way. The vet was unreachable because he's on holiday. Luckily Christoph was here and was able to reposition her inside and got her other leg and head around to the front and pulled her out just in time. This morning as I was getting ready to drive to the Alpaca Show in Traboch, a surprise was waiting for me in the barn. Toffee Flo had given birth to a baby boy 9 days early and his name is Ragnar The Ready. The winter is finally over, let the Spring begin! While walking the dogs the other day I found a spot with a view of the Riegersburg castle and my farm with no other houses in sight. A few days ago it was time for Ariel Storm to move up to the boys group. He still misses his mum sometimes, but he's fitting in very well and already starting trekking practice with his new buddies. Vor ein paar Tagen war es Zeit für Ariel Storm in die Jungsgruppe aufzusteigen.
