So much has been going on here the last week I haven't been able to keep up with my posts. Here is my new sliding barn door, the inside is nearly finished now, with new floors and doors and gates inside. The walls just have to be plastered inside and out and it will be finished. At the same time, the old store house was knocked down and plans for a 3 level terrace are being made to cover the empty space and pile of rubble that has been left. This week a very big step towards phase 2 was taken. Outside the back door I plan to put a terrace where guests can sit and relax and look at the alpacas in the fields. This morning while going out to clean the stalls I noticed Toska standing on the meadow with a white bundle at her feet. She had had her baby a month early! He is somehow not premature, he is a good weight and healthy. Although it did take him 11 hours to find the milk and at one point I was actually milking mum directly into his mouth. Yesterday was a very big day. We drove in a huge circle around Austria picking up first the horse trailer, then Hector and Rivaldo, then on to Tru Santos and finally arrived back home at midnight. The boys spent their first night in their new home and this morning they got their first look at it in the sunlight. Tomorrow is the big day!. After all these months of work it's finally time for the first alpacas to move in. The boys' barn is ready, the hay has been delivered and tomorrow I will pick up my new horse trailer and then on to Hector, Rivaldo from Oberstein Alpacas and Tru Santos from Alpaka Valley.
